Promsa receives two awards for sustainability and digitalisation at the Aggregates Congress

PROMSA receives two awards at the 2022 Aggregates Congress in the categories of Good Operational Practices and Circular Economy.

The Aggregates Congress organised by the National Association of Aggregates Manufacturers (ANEFA) was held on 25, 26 and 27 May. This year, the event was held in Oviedo, specifically at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos, designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

Promsa won second prize in the category of Good Operational Practices with PROMSA CONNECTA, our digitalisation project comprising the Espai Client platform and the Digital Delivery Note: the former is a space where the client, via the web, has 24/7 information on their consumption, delivery notes, invoices and certificates, among others, and the latter is a platform through which carriers receive the delivery note on a mobile device, thus eliminating paper at the construction site.

We also won second place in the Circular Economy category for the Tecnosoles project at the La Falconera quarry. A proposal that gives added value to the restorations, as it uses low-value materials from the quarrying activity itself and waste, very well chosen through specific regulations containing organic amendments. This activity helps to fix CO2 in the subsoil and accelerates the natural process of restoration, also contributing to the reduction of waste in landfills thanks to its recovery.

Promsa also had a special role during the congress, with several interventions in round tables. Ramón Torrescasana, director of the aggregates and environment business, was present at the opening table of the congress, where the subject of biodiversity in mining operations was discussed.

Carlos Raich, general manager of Promsa, participated in the round table of ANEFHOP (Spanish National Association of Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers) in his role as president, explaining the great challenges facing the sector, especially in terms of sustainability.

And finally, Pilar López, head of environment at Promsa, as president of ANEFHOP’s environmental department, made contributions to the debate on the route to follow to reduce the carbon footprint of concrete.
