New extension of freezing tunnels, Province Barcelona

One of the frozen products, refrigerated services and freezing tunnels company, located in Vic (province of Barcelona), has increased its freezing capacity by expanding its current chambers.

It consists of three -80º freezing tunnels of about 236m2 (two 77m2 and one 82m2) and a pre-chamber of 112m2.

The engineering team opted for PROXTREM, Promsa’s pumpable concrete specifically for very low temperature conditions and subjected to freeze-thaw cycles. In addition, the pavements were applied without joints, thanks to the use of structural polymeric fibres, with a thickness of 16cm.

The work was carried out in the Osona region (Barcelona province) from Promsa’s plant in les Masies de Voltregà, near Vic.
