Structure reinforcement systems

What is a structural reinforcement project?

Learn about Structural Reinforcement Systems.

A concrete structure may need to be reinforced for various reasons such as deterioration or ageing, calculation errors, execution errors, opening of holes in walls or slabs, repair of damaged elements…

Structural reinforcement is the most economical and cost-effective alternative to demolition. The main objective is to significantly increase the strength, stiffness and durability of the structure. By placing a flexible sheet or high-strength carbon fibre laminate external to the structural element to be reinforced.

Some of the reasons for structural reinforcement are, for example, if our house has suffered structural damage due to a fire or explosion, if there were construction or design errors, if the materials used have deteriorated over time…

Molins Structural Reinforcement Systems

At Molins, we have the best materials and experts to obtain an optimal and long-lasting result. The most important thing about this process is the possibility of being able to forget that our building will be damaged in the future.

For the reinforcement of concrete structures, we have the PROPAM CARBOCOMP system, which basically consists of placing a flexible sheet or a high-strength carbon fibre laminate with a high modulus of elasticity outside the structural element to be reinforced, which is joined to the concrete by means of a layer of a high-quality epoxy adhesive. This significantly increases the strength, stiffness and durability of the structure with a reinforcement that also maintains the original geometry and section of the reinforced element.

Molins carbon fibre structural reinforcement

The advantages of the carbon fibre reinforcement system are that the materials are lightweight, the application is fast and economical, it provides high durability due to its corrosion resistance, it adapts easily to the shape of the elements and it allows subsequent decorative finishes.

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP

Structural reinforcement with PROPAM® CARBOCOMP.

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP is a system based on the use of unidirectional laminates composed of carbon fibre with high mechanical resistance to traction, for the reinforcement of concrete, steel and wood structures.

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP TEXTILE

Structural reinforcement with PROPAM® CARBOCOMP TEXTIL.

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP TEXTIL is a unidirectional carbon fibre fabric. It stands out for its very light weight, negligible in structural calculations. It is very versatile and is suitable for compression, shear or tensile reinforcement of elements.

Its minimal thickness allows the original shape and appearance of the structure to be maintained. It is the most recommended for the reinforcement of concrete, steel, brickwork and wood structures.

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP PLUS

Structural Reinforcement with PROPAM® CARBOCOMP PLUS

PROPAM® CARBOCOMP PLUS, which is a system based on the use of multidirectional carbon fibre laminates with high mechanical resistance to traction that allow it to be glued and bolted. This material is perfect for the reinforcement of concrete, steel and wood structures.

BETOPOX BL

BETOPOX® BL is a two-component adhesive based on epoxy resin and selected fillers, solvent-free and thixotropic. They are specially designed for structural reinforcement with PROPAM® CARBOCOMP and PROPAM® CARBOCOMP PLUS carbon fibre laminates, for the reinforcement of structures on concrete, steel and wood.

BETOPOX CARBO

BETOPOX® CARBO is suitable for structural reinforcement with PROPAM® CARBOCOMP TEXTIL carbon fibre fabric for the reinforcement of structures on concrete, steel, brickwork and wood. As it is solvent-free, it catalyses without loss of volume.
