SoluciónHow to create a chemical barrier against hair regrowth

Descripción sistema

Moisture rising from the foundations, also called capillary rising, causes degradation or deterioration of the lower parts of the walls, and unhealthy environments inside the dwellings. The CTE currently mentions that a barrier must be installed to prevent this pathology. There are many dwellings in which this problem was not taken into account.

In general, we know that the wall has this problem when we observe that the mortar or plaster is in poor condition and the stains can be seen from the bottom upwards.

The wallpaper is peeling off, the wood of the frieze has rotted, the paint is peeling, or there is a strong musty smell.

The solution to this problem consists of creating a horizontal chemical barrier at the base of the wall withPROPAM® CREAM, a water-repellent product in cream form based on siloxanes in aqueous dispersion.

PROPAM® CREAMis sprayed into a series of pre-drilled holes.

Solution

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Remove the ceramic or wooden skirting board and remove the degraded plaster or mortar down to the original substrate.

Drill 12 mm diameter holes horizontally in the plane coinciding with the joint. Drill at least one row with a maximum hole spacing of 10-12 cm.

Always drill a hole at the intersections between the horizontal and vertical joints. The depth of the hole shall be the depth of the wall, leaving a gap of 2 to 4 cm with respect to the other side of the wall.

PACKAGING PREPARATION

Unscrew the tube.

Insert the sausage into the tube.

Insert the nozzle and screw it onto the tube. The two sharp elements of the nozzle will pierce the sausage allowing the PROPAM® CREAM to come out.

For ease of use, insert a flexible cannula into the tip of the nozzle.

INJECTION

Insert the tube to the bottom of the hole.

Completely fill the hole, leaving 1 cm free up to the surface. Then apply PROPAM® IMPE, plaster or apply a mortar without plugging the holes.

Recommendations

  • It is recommended to carry out preliminary tests on the substrates in order to observe possible changes in shade.
  • The product is not designed for application as surface impregnation. For this purpose use PROPAM® MINERALIZER, which can also be applied in staggered drill holes.
  • To reinforce this solution, PROPAM® IMPE should be applied in two coats to the wall surface 50 cm above the moisture content prior to the application of finishing mortar or plaster.
