Descripción sistema
Coatings made with single-layer mortar with a sprayed aggregate finish are characterised by a higher surface resistance and are particularly suitable for areas sensitive to erosion, such as ground floors or skirting boards of buildings.
REVAT® PIEDRA should be used to obtain a highly decorative sprayed aggregate finish, impermeable to rainwater and permeable to water vapour, in a wide range of colours.

Solution
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE
The substrate must be perfectly cured, resistant and free of dust and grease.
Remove degraded or damaged parts.
In hot weather or very absorbent substrates, it is advisable to dampen it beforehand.
Lay REVAT® GLASS FIBRE MESH 110where different supports meet (pillars, slabs, lintels…).
On smooth or non-absorbing concrete substrates, the application ofPROPAM® GRIP +is recommended as a bonding bridge.
APPLICATION
Mix REVAT® PIEDRA with the recommended amount of water and knead manually or mechanically until a workable, lump-free paste is obtained. It is important to always use the same proportion of water for kneading and let the paste rest for about 5 minutes.
Spread the paste on the substrate with a trowel or spraying machine.
The thickness of the single layer mortar shall not be less than 10 mm and this shall be regularised by the beads, which act as masters and as a union between work panels.
The selected aggregate is then sprayed with the help of a shovel or trowel, before the single layer mortar forms a surface film and limits the anchorage of the aggregate.
When the single-layer mortar begins to harden, the sprayed aggregate is pressed with the help of the metal trowel, without covering it with excess paste due to the excess thickness. In this way, the aggregate, as a final finish, is well adhered and does not protrude.
Recommendations
- The usual substrates for application are: ceramic brick, thermo-clay, concrete block, cement and concrete rendering.
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or strong wind.
- Do not apply when there is a risk of rain or frost.
- Apply between +5ºC and 35ºC temperature.
- Do not apply to areas submerged in water.
- Do not apply to surfaces with an angle of less than 10%.
- Protect the lower parts of buildings with skirting boards.
- During application protect exposed areas from rain.
