SATE – Thermal Insulation

Energy savings with the SATE system in façades

Learn all about energy saving with the SATE System

What is the SATE system in façades?

TheExternal Thermal Insulation System(EIFS) is a star topic in the energy renovation sector. A solution that is increasingly attracting the attention of everyone, especially homeowners.

The SATE is a system whose main function is to thermally and acoustically insulate the façade of buildings, as its name suggests, from the outside. It also has the great advantage that it can be installed in both new and refurbished buildings.

Consisting of installing a prefabricated insulating panel, which is adhered to the wall with adhesive and mechanical fixing. In addition, the insulation panel protects itself with a coating consisting of one or more layers of mortar. One of these is reinforced with a mesh, which is applied directly to the insulating panel.

In other words, the SATE is like a barrier that is placed on the façade to prevent the heat generated inside the home from escaping.

Energy savings in façades with the SATE system

An effective and simple way to tackle energy wastage and save on energy consumption and electricity and gas bills is to install the SATE in our home. The thermal insulation of buildings helps to regulate energy consumption, minimising thermal bridges, through which houses lose their heat.

Main energy advantages of the SATE system

This system has many advantages, for example, it optimises thermal comfort, reduces the risk of condensation, mould and fungus, no loss of usable surface area in the home, etc.

In this article we will focus only on those that are related to energy benefits.

Reduction of CO2 emissions thanks to SATE systems

Today, sustainability has become a strategic pillar in any action plan, as well as one of the most important challenges we face as a planet.

For this same reason, we must highlight that the SATE is one of the most sustainable products on the market thanks, fundamentally, to its materials and installation system, which contribute significantly to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

At Molins, we strive to do our bit to contribute to sustainable construction with vegetable-based panels.

Energy efficiency

99% of homes in our country suffer unnecessary energy losses. One solution to put an end to this major problem is to wrap the façade of the building, which will also allow us to save energy, approximately more than 30% on our energy bill. A very significant figure to take into account the current situation we are living in with the great increase in current prices.

Long-term economic savings

As we have already mentioned, it has a series of advantages, which will allow us to save money in the long term. It is a solution that, if installed in time, can avoid many problems in the future.

Damp, mould and condensation are some of the most common problems that tend to appear in the home. Thanks to the SATE, we can achieve a significant reduction in the risk of these problems appearing.

Likewise, when installed on the outside, we are protecting and maintaining the façade from the different temperature changes that occur throughout the year and that over time end up damaging the structure.

The SATE is the coat that we can put on the building so that it is maintained and that with the passage of time is preserved as the first day. A coat that lasts over time.
