How to avoid high temperature changes inside your home?

Recommendations to prevent high temperature changes in your home and have a pleasant atmosphere.

What are the causes of high temperature changes in your home? Discover the Molins recommendations to avoid them

Sudden changes in temperature, extreme heat or phenomena such as draughts affect the temperature in the home, even indoors. With heating or air conditioning systems we can slightly reduce the outdoor wind chill, but more extreme temperatures require a higher protection system to achieve a comfortable temperature. But what exactly is the right temperature and how is it achieved?

INDOOR THERMAL COMFORT

A thermal environment can be considered comfortable when the people in it do not feel either hot or cold. It is therefore a totally subjective matter and a matter of personal perception, but there are general conditions in buildings and their surroundings that make them more prone to one thermal sensation or another. Relative humidity or dra ughts entering through the facades are some of these factors.

In the case of relative humidity, for example, we can establish an approximate scale that guarantees a certain pleasant thermal sensation: between 40% and 60% humidity the building is within a comfortable sensation.

This can be mitigated with specific solutions such as air conditioning, adequate heating and ventilation systems or high performance glazing, but the ambient thermal conditions of the area in which we live will persist.

Therefore, the best way to ensure a stable and long-lasting room temperature, without being subject to climatic changes from the outside, is to insulate buildings externally, which keeps the feeling in the home at an ideal temperature, by reinforcing the walls.

INSULATING THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE

External thermal insulation systems (EIFS) are the best guarantee of thermal protection. They help both to achieve a better thermal and acoustic sensation and to achieve greater durability and structural protection of the building.

On average, energy leakage through the façade allows up to 30 % of its storage to escape and leads to structural damage to the façade, such as cracks and damp, which can damage the building. In the long run, this is also a considerable waste of money, as it considerably increases the energy consumption of households and is reflected in the energy bill.

The SATE systems, by eliminating thermal bridges in building façades, make them more resistant to ageing, provide more cushioning against impacts and leaks and give greater acoustic insulation and chemical resistance, among other advantages.

In addition to energy savings in terms of sustainability, it also leads to lower electricity bills by reducing the need to use heating or air conditioning systems to regulate the temperature in the home.

SATE SYSTEM: THE ADVANTAGES OF PROPAM® ECOETICS

At Molins, seeking maximum energy and economic efficiency, we have designed our sustainable thermal insulation system, PROPAM® ECOETICS, with a 100% vegetable-based panel that reuses waste from gardening and agriculture:

The PROPAM® THERM EPS BM insulation board, the manufacture of which reduces the carbon footprint by 30%,

In addition to contributing to the circular economy and the fight against climate change with this compound, its application helps to reduce the carbon footprint by preventing those CO₂ emissions that leak from unlined households.

The PROPAM® ECOETICS range is not just about environmental innovations. The characteristics of its components also give the façade a more natural and robust aesthetic, in line with the latest trends of builders and architects. They bring a more contemporary design to exterior façades.

Molins’ SATE systems provide the façades with a series of benefits such as:

  • Increased compensation of vapour flows between the inside and outside of the building.
  • Significant and positive improvement in the well-being of housing users.
  • Increased durability of structures

For all these reasons, Molins’ SATE solutions are the best way to fight against extreme cold and heat and keep those temperatures out of the house. Moreover, its installation requires only the use of the façade, it does not use habitable metres of the interior, and it is a simple application, it does not need a very durable work to install it.

At Molins, we have many more solutions to make your home a more comfortable place with a comfortable atmosphere. We also have a technical area where we provide our customers with a whole range of tools to make their work and their day-to-day life easier. If you want to know more, do not hesitate to contact us!
