SoluciónLevelling and subsequent laying of a lightweight screed

Descripción sistema

In recent times, parquet has established itself as a common decorative element, both in home decoration and in industrial installations or large surfaces. To achieve quality finishes with this type of light flooring, as with any other (carpet, PVC, rubber, etc.), it is necessary to have a dry, flat, level and clean substrate.

The solution consists of usingNIVELANTE 10, i.e. a self-levelling mortar with excellent levelling capacity and rapid hardening, which makes it possible to repair and smooth concrete, mortar and similar surfaces in interiors prior to the installation of this type of covering.

Solution

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Check the state of the substrate, it must be resistant and completely set and free of dust, paint, oils, etc…

Check existing differences in flatness. The maximum thickness of application shall be 10 mm per coat.

Repair all small holes and degraded areas with the same levelling mortar NIVELANTE 10, or with PROPAM® REPAR 5, PROPAM® REPAR 40 or PROPAM® REPAR TECHNO if the substrate is concrete. Prepare the substrate with a primer prior to the application of NIVELANTE 10:

APPLICATION

Knead NIVELANTE 10 with a slow electric mixer (500 rpm), leave to stand for 2 minutes and mix again to have the dough ready for use.

Pour NIVELANTE 10 on the substrate and spread with the help of a trowel to facilitate levelling. Use a spiked roller to smooth the mixture and to facilitate levelling.

If a second coat is to be applied, it must be applied as soon as the first coat can be walked on (approx. 4 hours). The thickness of each coat must not exceed 10 mm.

If higher thicknesses are required, use NIVELANTE 80.

As a general rule, to coat with wood, PVC or paint, wait a minimum of 48-72 hours.

Recommendations

  • Do not apply on soils with permanent moisture or susceptible to capillary rising.
  • Apply between + 5ºC and + 35ºC temperature.
  • In order to apply a second coat, the first coat must not be completely dry, if this is the case, it is necessary to prime withPROPAM® GRIP +.
  • It is recommended to use PROPAM® DUR as a consolidating agent for old mortars and concretes, before applying the product, waiting 12 hours for it to dry.
  • Respect the mixing water and mix the product correctly, avoiding the introduction of too much air.
  • On substrates with radial heating, turn it off 24 hours before application.
  • Do not apply outdoors or on industrial floors.
  • For non-porous substrates use PROPAM® GRIP + primer.
  • Use NIVELANTE 80 for levelling underfloor heating.
