SoluciónRealisation of a lime screed/mortar in hot or dry windy weather

Descripción sistema

Climatic conditions, especially high temperatures and dry wind, are of decisive importance during the application of the single-layer mortar/lime mortar, as they influence the speed of drying and subsequent finishing of the coating.

Excessively fast drying may affect the correct development of the mechanical and/or aesthetic performance of the coating, due to dehydration of the product or changes in shade between the different working layers.

In high ambient temperatures, the substrates have a very high water absorption.

The hot, dry wind favours the rapid dehydration of the single-layer mortar/lime mortar.

These circumstances may cause shrinkage cracks and/or loss of mechanical strength in the applied single layer mortar.

Solution

The substrate must be perfectly cured, resistant and free of dust and grease.

Remove degraded or damaged parts.

Wet the substrate with plenty of water. Wait until the shine of the water disappears.

Apply single coat mortar,REVAT® SUPRA,REVAT® RASPADO, orREVAT® PIEDRA or lime mortar, REVAT® CAL TRADITIONAL, REVAT® CAL ENFOSCADO . In the case of working with substrates of very different absorption, it is preferable to apply a first coat of about 5 mm as a primer.

Once the product has been applied and the finish has been provided, it is advisable to dampen the application with water spray, avoiding full sunlight.

ApplyPROPAM® DURif the single layer mortar/lime mortar once applied has lost strength, and disintegrates easily when the surface is wiped with the hand.
