Structural fibre: the challenge of the Promsa team at the Port of Barcelona

Promsa is supplying concrete for the work being carried out by UTE Potasas. The project consists of a plant for the reception, storage and dispatch of sodium and potassium salts.

Promsa is participating by supplying concrete for the works in the port of Barcelona being carried out by UTE Potasas.

The project, owned by ICL, consists of a plant for the reception, storage and shipping by sea of the sodium and potassium salts extracted from the deposit located in Suria-Sallent (Catalonia).

To date, it is the most important work carried out in Catalonia using structural polymeric fibre, applying it in the execution of the paving to replace conventional reinforcement or steel fibre.

In addition to the complexity of the work, there are two additional elements: the proximity of the structure to the sea and the high chloride content of the stockpiled material.
